Blooming

Last summer, in Uganda, when we were on the Prayer mountain, I closed my eyes and spent time talking to God. I saw Oslo from above and a flower in the middle, blooming.

Last summer, in Uganda, in the Katanga slum, taking care of wounds, I felt God so close. It was a feeling I hadn’t had before. When I wasn’t cleaning a wound, I was thanking God, for that great opportunity we had to show these people His love for them. And I struggled to keep my self from crying.

Last Thursday, in Oslo, at Bjølsen school. Me and Christina, one of my co-leaders at the after-school club called “Filos”, were at the school to talk to the social-teacher and the inspector, to tell about the club and ask if we could visit the classes to get more kids to come. Again I felt the tears coming. God was there.

We don’t have any way of evangelism at the club. We simply want to give these kids love from God, some food and a safe place where they can be them selves together with their friends.

The very first leader of the club was denied any form of advertisement for the club on that school, since it’s managed by a church and not by the government. But on Thursday, after the meeting, we were directed to the different classrooms to tell the kids about us and what we are doing :D “Wow, God”, I was thinking.

“Filos rocks!!” – one of the kids, that is attending the club, said when we told the rest of the class about us. And many “new” kids said; “I’m coming, I can walk there together with ‘Peter’!”

In Uganda I saw the flower blooming..

In February we split the group on age because we saw a lot of conflicts between the older and younger kids. Kids in 5th and 6th grade are coming  on Mondays and 2nd to 4th are coming on Wednesday. The leaders are split too, so we don’t get totally burnt-out. Now we hopefully will have more kids, and next Sunday we are going to speak in the church to recruit more leaders.

Now I’m planting the seed.
