2009!

To all my readers, I wish you a Happy New Year!!

2008 was a very exciting year with quite a lot of traveling, meeting people, dishwashing, holidays, moving out of home, becoming a student...!

January and half of February I worked at my nightshift-job and some Saturdays on the local supermarket. Then I finally got to go back to Uganda for allmost a month!! Wow, was so good be back, with friends, host-family, the children, the Ugandan culture and people! Hope it won't be too long before I'm back again! Just love it:D

After being home for 10 days in March, I went to the US! Since summer 2007 I had a feeling that God wanted me to go to Chicago to live in a community called Jesus People. So I went there, in the end of Easter which I celebrated with some relatives before going to Chicago. The time in Chicago was not too exciting, but it was exciting to go there, not knowing anyone or anything about what my task would be, just having the feeling that I should go. My task bacame to wash dishes...But I felt I was on the right place, so it was ok. I also got to see Nicholas and Sylvia, two friends of mine from Uganda, he studied on Wheaton University, in a suburb of Chicago. After those 1,5 month I went many places to visit more family and other Ugandan friends:D

Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Norfolk, Kerkhoven, Fort Wayne - cities I visited.

Had three Great months all together! Finni was in the US at the same time, so I met him a couple of times too:) For example, we celebrated 17. mai together with some of his friends!

Last summer was the best summer we've had for some years weather-wise, with many days of sun and high temperatures:D Lovely! so our local beach was packed with people.

Then the fall came, and it was time to move out of home, to Oslo, to start my nursing-studies there. The first semestre was very exciting, meeting new people, new challenges, living in a city..Many changes in life! But very good changes:) It's been nice to live closer to many friends I got at Hald and also friends from home that are studying or working here in Oslo. It's also been different to share an apartment! Me and Kay are sharing a ok place downtown, and we're very happy to get visitors! We've had quite many people spending a night or two here allready:)

In December I had the anatomy and physiology exam before I went home to celebrate Christmas. The weeks before was quite hard, a lot to read and learn! So it was SO nice to go home for Christmas, not carrying any school-books!

The Christmas-holidays was the best time at home since I came home after six months in Uganda I think. The week before Christmas I worked only one nightshift, and the other days I relaxed a lot:) I had some friends over on December 21st, to make peper-cakes, and in the evening on December 22nd, the other evenings I relaxed by my self in front of the TV or was babysitting at Maria's. Nice!

The rest of the Christmas I worked very little, and just spent time with friends and family instead. Had a really really nice time! Until December 30th, when a good friend of mine was involved in a car accident and was badly injured. Please pray for her!! She's still in the respirator, and they're not sure of how much the damages will affect her legs and back.

While I was home I was wondering why I didn't want to go back to Oslo at all, because when I was home only for a long weekend early last fall, I was kind of looking forward to go back.. I think it was because it was Christmas, and so many friends were home, and I had more time with family. I also realized that I've actually moved out of home, and two months for the summer holidays probably will be the longest time at home for many years! Maybe forever..

On Sunday I had the best ending of the holidays I could ask for. The weather was on it's best, it was cold, sunny and it was even a littlebit of snow! In early afternoon Oskar and Anne came to Vigra and I joined them for a walk, right before clouds came. It was so facinating to see the blue heaven in one end, and the dark, grey skies in the other. After the walk we went in to my grandparents to eat potetoball. You can only imagine how good that meal was!
