Christmas holidays!

I'm done with the anatomy-exam!! What a nice phrase to write:) It's been some busy but nice days so far, Maria and Ole has been finishing their house and moved many of their stuff today, so I've been watching their kids meanwhile. And I've had fun with them!!

I've also worked one night, which was ok. Everything is kind of nice now, since it doesn't have anything with school to do.

Looking forward to some nice time at home with family and friends the next two weeks!

Tired..

DSCN8655 DSCN8657 Just wanted to share two pictures I took of my self today. I'm tired of reading. Want to go home, get away from the books.

One more day now!

5 knots and fresh coffee

This week has been one of the faster one this fall. The first time I was home since I moved to Oslo, a long weekend earlier this fall, was very nice, but in a way it was good to go back to Oslo. So when I was going home for one whole week, I thought it could be a little too long. But I tell you, it's over before I feel it even started. The days have just passed like in a blink of an eye.

I've been home to read for my exam as I wrote in the last blog. My practical exam went well, thank you for thinking of me! So now it is the anatomy and physiology-exam, with some micro biology and other things, that is up next. I will say I've been a good student this week, have gone up at 6.30am, and been reading most of the time upto 4-5pm.

But I've done other things too:)
Sunday afternoon was so nice, me and Jonas went out with his sailboat for a trip on the fjord. With 5 knots in the canvas (not sure if canvas is the right word) and with a cup of the freshly brewed coffee we had the best time:D With some spots with stars in we just sat outside and relaxed and talked.
Then it was home to try to get a nap before I went for my nightshift-job.

Oskar was also glad to have his Uncle home:) Nice to see him again, and spend some time with him! And he told me that he couldn't wait to see Aunt Ragna!! I think he's looking forward so much!

On Tuesday I went to Maria to baby sit Jakob and Tuva. While Tuva slept me and Jakob played with some of his Lego and had some cozy time reading books before he had to go to bed too. Tuva was a little scard of Uncle Per this time too, but in the evening on Sunday, after spening some time with her she found out that I was a nice Uncle after all:D

Thursday Marte invited me to her home, for dinner and games with her family. She and her brothers made the best taco ever!! After that we had gløgg and pepper-cakes while we played Rummy and Ticket To Ride:D Thank you Marte and family for a lovely evening!! And thanks to Sandra that tried to guide me on the right bus by giving me instructions on what number. But me and numbers are bad combination, so I forgot it, and had to wait for 30 minutes for the next bus.

Friday was so good too, after reading, Jonas came and picked me up and we went to Gunhild where we met some other friends. We had pizza, played games and had a very good time together!! Looking forward to see you again soon!

And now I'm back at work. It's a quiet night, so I got some time to write this blog now while I have a computer. I ordered a new one for my self, since it was too expensive to fix my old one..sad. I loved it. It will be missed, at least for a few more days.

It was fun to be back at the university college where I worked as an apprentice for two years. It's four years ago now, but many people still remembers me:) So that's nice! I think I must have been a nice computer-support-guy:)

At 10 am today I'm going back to Oslo, to have 9 more days with reading (with some time off in between) before I go home for Christmas-holidays:) Can't wait to the 17th, and still, I don't want it to come too fast!

Wish you all a nice time of Advent!

Reading and without any computer

To all my dear readers!

The last few weeks I've been without a computer and I've borrowed my roommates' to write the two last blogs. But now his computer is on service too, so today I'm in a cafè now to write just a few words. The next few weeks will be very busy, I'm having a big exam on December 17., and I will be preparing for that, so it will not be very much action at my blog meanwhile.

Please think of me and pray as I'm reading! Tomorrow is an exciting day too, I'm having a practical test!

Wish you all a really nice advent!!

Bergen!

Last weekend I wanted some relaxing days before I started to read for my exams, so I took the train to Bergen. Bergen was wet as usual, but so good to come out of Oslo. And if you didn't know, Bergen is a beautiful city!!
I crashed at Karl-Erik, Elias' and Mini's place for the days and we had some fun time, playing Ticket to Ride and Canadisk Canasta, a cardgame. Thank you guys for lending me a sofa to sleep on!
Around noon on Friday I met Stine for a cup of coffee and a chat on a cafe. Nice to see her and hear stories from her trip to Israel, and see pictures! Happy Birthday on last Sunday Stine! Man, you're getting old...but man, you stay young:)
In the evening I went to Jan and Hanna's place to hang out with them and their little girl, Live. So nice to see that little family:)

Saturday morning I met Marit, for breakfast. Allways nice to see you Marit!
In the evening me and Elias went for a birthday party to a guy I didn't know too much. But it was a fun evening, we played games, ate cake and had fun.

Sunday, around noon I met Hald-people, Kathrine, Elise, Hanne-Liv and Hanne. Nice to see you girls! Had a nice lunch in an Indian restaurant with them, and heard stories about life in Bergen, and France, where Hanne Liv had lived for some time this fall.
Before dinner we had some rounds with cardgame with the boys, well, if it's luck, I'm not lucky, do you have to be good to win, I'm not good enough...I think i lost in every game!
For dinner I went to Simen and Elisabeth, this time at Elisabeth's place. It's kind of a tradition now. This time it was just as good as last time! Thank you guys!! After dinner we played games and had a good time together.

As you can read, this weekend was Great, with a big G!

I have some trouble with my computer at the moment, so i can't put out pictures right now, I'm so sorry!

Happy days!

My last two weekends has been SO nice! The first one, was on the cabin, as you have read, and this last weekend became really nice too. Since Kay was away, I was home alone, which was nice:)

I had planned to do some studying, but when Saturday came, I used the hours before noon to just do other things, I finally sent my sister's birthday-present, did some laundry and just did other things, except reading. Then I went to watch Ragnhild and her team play a handball-game. It became a very interesting game, her team, Ullern, had the lead the whole first part of the game, but they lost the grip in the second part, and the other team became better, so just a few minutes before the end the other team scored and it was 23-23. But then, in the very last seconds, Ullern had the ball, and 15 seconds before the end they scored and won 24-23! Ragnhild was one of the two keepers, and she was very good! She even saved a penalty throw! Very good job Ragnhild:D

In the afternoon I made dinner for my self, relaxed and did some cleaning before Stine, Ragnhild and Marit came over. We had a nice evening together, we made pizza, played game and just hanged out.

Sunday I did some reading before I had to got to the airport to pick up Anne and Oskar. They were going to be in Oslo for a few days for ABR-training with Oskar. SO nice to see them!! I was together with them that evening, and I came to the hotel the next morning to help out, so Anne paid a hotel breakfast for me:) NAM! Oskar had not slept too much that night, so he slept for loong that morning, so he had just got up before I had to go to school. In the afternoon I met them and went back to the hotel with Oskar while Anne went to meet a friend. I think Oskar was a little tired to be with his mum, because he was a little grumpy all the time we went together with Anne, but when she left us, he was quiet all the way back to the hotel. We just laid in each our bed and relaxed:)

Looking forward to see you again in December Anne and Oskar!

And you know what? Yesterday I found some cheap air tickets, so I decided to go home to read at home the first week in December!:) Will be good!

Tomorrow I'm taking the train to Bergen to have some relaxing days there before four quite exciting, and a little stressful reading-weeks are coming. Please pray for me when I'm preparing for my practical exam which I will have at November 28th, and my Big theoretical exam which I will have December 17!

Another weekend, one of the rear ones

This weekend has been one of the better this fall. On Friday afternoon me, Kay, Stine, Erick and Ragnhild took the bus out of Oslo, heading for Oppdal. When we arrived Anne-Margrethe and a cousin of Eivind picked us up and took us to Eivind's parent's cabin in the middle of Trollheimen, where Eivind waited for us.

DSCN8411 DSCN8427

It was so good to get away from the everyday life and just have some day to relax together with good friends!! We had a good supper before we had some rounds of games.

Saturday we slept as long as we could before we had a late breakfast. While the girls relaxed inside, the boys went out to fly small model planes. The wind was too strong, so it was not very successful..

DSCN8480

We had to go to the local store to get some food, and the weather was beautiful, so we walked, and walked.

DSCN8488DSCN8510

 DSCN8498 DSCN8504

But we had a nice time, throwing snow balls at the girls:)

DSCN8493 DSCN8499

In the afternoon and evening we just hang out in the cabin, played games relaxed, made graut for dinner and taco for supper and hanged out!

 DSCN8531DSCN8563DSCN8538

Sunday, before breakfast we went out to watch a flock of reindeer that Eivind discovered was eating grass not very far from the cabin. While where watching they started to walk trough the field closer to us, and they crossed the road and walked uphill and from the other side another flock came out from the threes and joined them. It was quite fascinating to watch!

The good nice people, together at the train station before we were leaving! THANK you friends for a fun, relaxing and nice weekend!!

Kids!

Today I've learned a few things. I've had study-day, as every Wednesday, but today was my first day at the after-school-club for kids from seven to twelve years old that the church I'm in, is running.

It was an interesting, fun and tiresome afternoon. When I came some of them showed me around, wanted me to play with them and thought it was fun to have a new leader there. I also discovered how hard it must be to be a referee in a soccer match, or any other match for that matter. I tried to keep track of what happened when two of the smaller kids played against one of the older kids, and it was not easy!

I also saw how some of them could bug others that didn't dare to speak up so much and speak back to the leaders.

I will be there every Wednesday from four to eight and I think it will be very fun and valuable for me to be there for the kids.

A weekend off

It's Monday evening. I'm outside, listening to the sound of silence. I can't here nothing but the sound of the waves out in the ocean. Getting the last breaths of fresh air from the coast for this time, before I have to go to bed, to get up too early tomorrow to fly back to Oslo.

I had some really nice days at home last weekend!! It was so good to just relax, be with family, see friends, get away from the busy city life. Be home! Instead of thinking of if I should read some more, I played with Jakob, he loves playing with my lego and climb in the tree in grandmother and grandfather's garden, had some nice time with Oskar, he looked good, smiled to me and told me some secrets about school and life in general. Tuva was scared of me this time, as she was when I came from the US, so that was very nice! She's running around and is everywhere!

Jonas, a good friend, had got a sailboat since last time I was home! So one evening we hang out in his boat and I tested one of his guest cabins over night and it was really enjoyable to sleep in the boat, to feel the waves!

Next time at home will be even better:) It'll be far into December, Christmas time and I will be done with my first exam, a big and icky one!

A sunny day with a trip to Holmenkollen

On Sunday it was a really nice day of autumn here in Oslo, as many other of the days lately. After I had called many friends and asked if they wanted to come with me to Holmenkollen, and nobody could, Kay got a question from a friend who asked the same question! So then I got to go there anyway:D Before it's to late to see the good old Holmenkollen. They're going to build a new one soon. For those who not know what Holmenkollen is, it is Norway's landmark within ski-jumping, places outside Oslo, with a beautiful view of the the city from the top of it.

Nice week!!

The past week has been so busy, but SO fun!! Tais has been in town from end of last week, she's participating in the FK-meeting that is going on right now, so she came a little ahead of the meeting to meet old friends from Hald and Oslo. And Monday Marte came to town all the way from Ålesund, so me and Kay invited all Hald-people that could come, home to our place to have some good time together.

DSCN7795 DSCN7800

Tuesday Dag Filip and Merete gathered some people from Øyane, home to their place.

Wednesday morning me and Kay was so lucky that Marte and Tais chose us to eat breakfast with:) Thanks girls!!

DSCN7819

Me and some of my classmates  had agreed to come together as a study-group, so we had the first gathering on Wednesday afternoon. We didn't study too much, but we just talked and got to know each other better before we found out we were hungry, and made dinner together.

The GS for FOCUS Uganda, my boss when I was there, is also at the FK-meeting, so yesterday me, Kay, Aina and Eirik met him and had some really good time together. So nice to meet him and to hear news about FOCUS staff!

DSCN7832

Today Stine is gathering some friends, will write about that and the rest of the weekend on Monday. It's hard to be bored here in Oslo:)

My new home

It's time to show the world my apartment, here in Oslo. I wanted to wait until after me and my roommate had been to Ikea and done some shopping. And last Friday we had out there and found almost everything we had on our list. The main thing was a bookshelf we wanted to set up so we got a little division between the kitchen and the living room, and it turned out to be very nice! And here is some pictures.
